Building the Future. Honoring the Past.
Investing in Essential Businesses that Power America
At Butler Holding Company, we focus on acquiring and nurturing small and medium-sized businesses that provide critical services and support the real economy. These businesses form the backbone of American life — from skilled trades to niche manufacturers to service providers, that our communities depend on.
Our mission is simple: Build long-term value by supporting companies that matter — to their customers, their employees, and their local economies.

A Long-Term Partner for Transitioning Business Owners
Rather than operating on rigid timelines or seeking short-term gains, we invest in what already makes a company great: its people, its customers, and its legacy.
Our approach is built for long-term success and continuity, especially for owners planning retirement or a transition. We bring thoughtful enhancements — not disruption — to help already-strong companies reach their next stage of growth.
Our Strategy
- Identify established, well-regarded businesses led by owners preparing for retirement or a leadership transition
- Combine capital with hands-on operational experience through majority ownership
- Support sustainable growth with fresh perspective, renewed focus, and long-term stewardship
Why We Invest in Essential Businesses
Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are the unsung heroes of the U.S. economy:
- They represent 99% of all U.S. businesses
- Employ nearly half of the private workforce
- Drive local employment, innovation, and stability
Yet many face uncertain futures when it’s time for the owner to step away. Butler Holding Company was created to fill that gap — ensuring these vital businesses continue to thrive for generations to come.
Supporting American Workers & Communities
We believe that supporting small businesses means supporting American workers. Our investments are rooted in:
- Respect for skilled work and strong teams
- Preservation of company culture and legacy
- Job security and local economic resilience
- A values-based approach to leadership and growth
Our goal is not just to build great businesses — it’s to strengthen the fabric of the American economy, one company at a time.

Leadership
Butler Holding Company is led by Eric Butler and supported by a select group of advisors and experienced business operators who are committed to investing in high-quality businesses aligned with the company’s core strategy.
Eric Butler has spent the majority of his career in the medical device industry, advancing from sales roles into executive leadership. In 2019, he relocated from North Carolina to Santa Barbara, California at the request of his company to lead a turnaround of its technology division. At the time, the division generated just under $100 million in global annual revenue and was operating at a financial loss. Under Eric’s leadership and a disciplined strategic plan, the business grew to over $250 million in revenue and achieved significant profitability, all without workforce reductions. In fact, the local team expanded from 180 to more than 200 employees.
Prior to that role, Eric spearheaded the creation of a new business segment focused on the design, customization, and installation of advanced technology in operating rooms around the world. These were highly complex, custom-built projects requiring strong project management and robust contractual structures. He built the team, processes, SOPs, and supporting documentation from the ground up. To date, the business has completed more than 1,200 installations.
